Third-year Ph.D. student Juliet J. Addo works in the Texas Biomedical Device Center under the guidance of Dr. Seth Hays. Her research currently focuses on harnessing the potential of vagus nerve stimulation for treating neurological injuries in tandem with rehabilitation.

Third-year Ph.D. student Lily Buchanan works under the guidance of Dr. Kristin Miller in the Biomechanics of Growth and Remodeling Lab. Her research centers around reproductive biomechanics, with a specific interest in the vagina.

Third-year Ph.D. Student Nathaniel Tjahjono works in Dr. Schmidtke’s Lab. His research focuses primarily on the Cornea involving microfluidics, protein patterning, and cell biology.

First-year Ph.D. Student Sumedha Guha works in the Biomaterials for Osseointegration and Novel Engineering (BONE) Lab under the guidance of Dr. Danieli Rodrigues. Her research focuses on improving implant healing in rats through novel surface modification techniques to address adverse immune responses in diabetic patients.

First-year Ph.D. student Grady Mukubwa works in Jones Lab under the Guidance of Dr. Caroline Jones. His research is focused on the interface of microfluidics, immunology and virology. He uses microfluidic devices to study virus-immune cell interactions.

Second-year Ph.D. student Ruchita Mahesh Kumar is working in the Texas Computational Memory Lab under the guidance of Dr. Bradley Lega. Her research focuses on Neuromodulation Therapies and the development of clinical Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) for neurological disorders.
