OVERVIEW

Third-year Ph.D. student Juliet J. Addo works in the Texas Biomedical Device Center under the guidance of Dr. Seth Hays. Juliet completed her undergraduate degree at The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2020 before coming to UTD for her Ph.D.

Her research currently focuses on harnessing the potential of vagus nerve stimulation for treating neurological injuries in tandem with rehabilitation. The primary goal of her research is to improve the quality of life of patients who have suffered any form of neurological injury.

In addition to her research, Juliet is involved in several campus and community organizations. She is currently President of the Black Graduate Students’ Association at UTD, where their focus is bringing together Black graduate students on campus while connecting them with resources necessary to help them succeed professionally and holistically. Juliet serves as a mentor for undergraduate students in Bioengineering through her Alma Mater KNUST.
