Meet Divya Subramanian, A 3rd- year Ph.D. student, who is one of our Convergence Grant Recipients!

Divya Subramanian

Divya works in Dr. Schmidtke’s Lab, where she is working on developing micropatterns of aligned collagen fibrils that mimic the corneal stroma intending to develop a wound-healing assay to understand corneal wound healing better.

“I chose this area of research because it helps me develop high throughput assays and experimental platforms that could aid in the development of therapies,” Subramanian said.

Dr. Schmidtke’s guidance and encouragement has been a big inspiration for Divya while at UT Dallas. Additionally, Divya’s husband has been a great support through his positivity and ‘never give up attitude.’

“I would like to thank the department for this grant. Funding from this grant will enable me to better understand the effect of topography on corneal cell behavior.” Subramanian said.

Congratulations, Divya! We are proud of you, and we can’t wait to see where your research takes you.
