Meet Arvin Honari, Convergence Grant Recipient

Arvin Honari

Arvin Honari works in the Imaging Guided Drug Delivery Lab at The University of Texas at Dallas. He is researching designing acoustic-sensitive drug carriers to enhance conventional nanomedicine-based drug delivery systems. The lab aims to package and release drugs in tumor tissue more effectively.

Since starting his undergraduate studies, Honari has always been interested in cancer therapy. “I chose this area of research since I believe ultrasound-mediated drug delivery is a cost-effective approach that has a very promising future in clinics,” Honari said.

Honari is a fifth-year PhD student whose biggest inspiration while at UT Dallas has been his supervisor, Dr. Shashank Sirsi. “I could not ask for a better mentor,” Honari said. “He is understanding, patient and knowledgeable. I thank him and look up to him as a mentor.”

“As a researcher, a grant is both a guarantee for your future work and an appreciation for your ideas and previous work,” Honari said. “This convergence grant shows that my work has been recognized by the department, and I am grateful for this.”

Congratulations, Arvin! We are proud of you, and we can’t wait to see where your research takes you.
