CONNoR NEIFERT
Graduate Student Ambassador
OVERVIEW
Fourth-year Ph.D. Student Connor Neifert works in the Texas Biomedical Device Center under the guidance of Dr. Seth Hays. His work merges engineering and basic neuroscience to develop therapies that restore quality of life lost due to neurological injuries. Connor leads studies to elucidate the mechanism of vagus nerve stimulation-mediated neuroplasticity and translates those findings to develop novel rehabilitation strategies.
Connor received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the Ohio State University in 2021. He led a nationally acclaimed mentorship program with OSU’s chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society. At UTD, Connor continues to mentor underrepresented Dallas high school students pursuing careers in STEM and is a co-president of the UTD Biomedical Engineering Graduate Student Assembly. Connor has presented his work at the international Biomedical Engineering Society and Society for Neuroscience conferences.
