PhD, Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University, 2009
BS, Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University, 2002

Overview

Dr. Meyer worked at the US Food & Drug Administration prior to joining the bioengineering department of the University of Texas at Dallas in October 2013. He currently teaches freshman biomedical engineering courses and an upper level technical elective on finite element analysis for biomedical engineers.

Research Interests

Dr. Meyer is currently interested in researching the progression to rupture of abdominal aortic aneurysms, solid mechanical modeling of device-tissue interactions, 3D printing, computational modeling approaches, and atherosclerosis development.

He has done research in cardiovascular biomechanics, looking at the interactions between devices and tissues in stents, endografts, and atrial septal occluders. He also conducted particle image velocimetry fluids experiments as a Whitaker Scholar (Post-Doc) in Marseille, France at I.R.P.H.E. (2009-2010) that investigated flow patterns within a compliant model of abdominal aortic aneurysm.
