Overview
Dr. Ben Porter joined UT Dallas in 2013 as a communications manager before joining the Department of Bioengineering as an assistant professor of instruction in 2018. Before joining UT Dallas, Porter was a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders where he conducted stroke research and behavioral training techniques for small animals undergoing functional magnetic resonance imaging or fMRI. Porter currently teaches Introduction to Bioengineering, Introduction to Medical Devices Development, and Six Sigma Yellow Belt for Bioengineering. Porter also focuses on student academic and professional success.
