Overview
Prof. Wang earned his PhD in computer science with a specialty in speech disorders from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in December 2011. He was then a postdoctoral research associate in the Neurogenetic Communication Disorders Consortium, a joint program between the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the University of Nebraska – Lincoln from January to August 2012 before he joined UT Dallas Callier Center for Communication Disorders as a research scientist. He began his current position in summer 2014.
Research Interests
Prof. Wang is conducting both science and engineering research on speech disorders. Specifically, his research topics include silent speech recognition/interface, articulation-to-speech synthesis, dysarthric speech recognition, motor speech disorders due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and articulatory patterns after laryngectomy.
