OVERVIEW

Second-year Ph.D. student Paulina Treviño works in the Vascular Mechanobiology Lab under the guidance of Dr. Heather Hayenga. Her work focuses on optimizing predictive models of plaque growth in coronary artery disease through the inclusion of hormones and lipid-lowering treatments. Paulina also mentors numerous undergraduate researchers in her lab working under her project.

Paulina received her B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2024. At UTD, Paulina is a Vice President of the UTD Biomedical Engineering Graduate Student Assembly and is the Secretary of the Johnsson School Student Council. Outside of the lab, Paulina enjoys staying active, painting, camping, and spending time with her family and dogs.
