UTD Bioengineering Welcomes Dr. Feng and Dr. Meyers

The Department of Bioengineering at The University of Texas at Dallas is delighted to announce the addition of two distinguished scholars to our faculty this semester. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Xu Feng and Dr. Eric Meyers as our new assistant professors.

Dr. Xu Feng, an Assistant Professor of Bioengineering at UT Dallas and a NIH-FIRST scholar, brings a unique perspective to our department. With a focus on developing advanced optical techniques for tissue structural and functional imaging, Dr. Feng has demonstrated excellence in the field of optical diagnostic imaging. Her innovative work in optical coherence elastography (OCE) techniques for in vivo diagnosis of corneal and skin biomechanics has the potential to revolutionize disease detection and treatment.

Dr. Eric Meyers brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our department. Holding a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering and Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Dallas, Dr. Meyers has dedicated his career to developing technology aimed at enhancing recovery after nervous system injuries. His groundbreaking work in closed-loop neurorehabilitation, neuromodulation, and biomarker discovery has been published in esteemed journals such as Nature Communications, Stroke, and Science Advances.
