Overview

Dr. Yichen Ding is an Assistant Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. Prior to joining UT Dallas in August 2020, he graduated with his B.S. in Optomechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University (2010), and with his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Peking University (2015). Yichen completed postdoctoral training in the School of Medicine and Engineering at UCLA in 2020. His research interests include optical imaging and computational methods pertaining to cardiac injury, with special emphasis on ventricular imaging, machine learning, and virtual reality. Dr. Ding was a recipient of the National Institute of Health Pathway to Independence Award (2019) and the American Heart Association Career Development Award (2018). He is also a member of several professional societies, inventor or co-inventor of seven patents, and author or co-author of more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
