Overview

Dr. Yichen Ding is an Assistant Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. Before joining UT Dallas in August 2020, he earned his B.S. in Optomechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University and his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Peking University.

Dr. Ding furthered his academic journey through postdoctoral training in the School of Medicine and Engineering at UCLA. His primary research focuses on advancing optical imaging and computational methodologies, with a specific emphasis on comprehending tissue heterogeneity and the fundamental mechanisms that underlie disease pathogenesis.

Dr. Ding is actively engaged in developing new systems for investigating cardiac development and injury, with primary support from National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, and American Heart Association.
