OVERVIEW

Third-year Ph.D. Student Connor Neifert works in the Texas Biomedical Device Center under the guidance of Dr. Seth Hays. His work focuses on researching and developing therapies that restore the quality of life lost due to neurological injuries. Connor leads studies to determine the mechanism of vagus nerve stimulation-mediated neuroplasticity and translates those findings to improve post-injury motor rehabilitation.

Connor received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Ohio State University in 2021. He has received multiple awards for his leadership and independent research during his undergraduate. Connor has also had the opportunity to lead a nationally acclaimed mentorship program with OSU’s chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society.

He continues to inspire and mentor underrepresented Dallas high school students pursuing careers in STEM. Connor has presented his work at annual conferences at the Biomedical Engineering Society and Society for Neuroscience.
